At Mahina Hawaii, we avoid giving people the average tours in Hawaii. We strive to offer a personalized experience that feels more like you’re hanging out with a good friend, instead of feeling like you’re on a tour. We take our guests to some of the most beautiful and lesser-known spots on Oahu to experience waterfall hikes, cliff jumping, snorkeling, turtles and other wildlife encounters, while sharing our local knowledge with you. Hawai’i is a very special place, and we are thrilled to take you out on an epic adventure day with us! Hawai’i has a very fragile ecosystem here in Hawaii. It is important that you don’t walk on the reefs, wear reef safe sunscreen (read our blog about sunscreens), keep a good distance from turtles and monk seals, and make sure you leave every place cleaner than you found it. You may notice your guide picking up trash at beaches and hikes. That is to ensure that rubbish doesn’t end up in our oceans, and to leave the area cleaner for the next people to enjoy. You pick from snorkeling, kayaking, or stand up paddling, and combine it with a beautiful hike. We take photos and videos for you (included in the price) so you can enjoy every bit of your adventure.

We can customize the adventure to tailor it to what you want to experience. We could also do one long 4 hour hike, or two shorter hikes. It’s up to you!

This is a 100% private adventure tour in Oahu, Hawaii with just you, your small group, and your awesome guide! Let us pick you up from your home/hotel and take you on a ride you will never forget. We circle around the island and hit every spot on the way that just can’t be missed.

The day is customized to what you want to see and do. You can pick from:

Depending on the conditions of the day, we will pick the best places that the day has to offer. You let us know how you want to experience the island, and we will put together the perfect adventure day for you and your party!

Our O’ahu adventure tour is nothing like the big business tour companies where you watch from the bus. We get out and experience the best of what O’ahu has to offer! We take all your photos and include them in the package, so you can enjoy every experience and not worry about your camera. We also pack healthy snacks and water for you. Pick up at 10 a.m. – Drop off at 6 p.m.

For groups of seven or more, please call and book ahead, as it takes more planning to use another van and another guide. If there’s a date that says “Call to Book,” we may be able to fit you in with another guide on that date. So just give us a call or send us an email.

Lunch: Although we provide snacks, we don’t offer a full lunch. We have so many recommendations of our favorite places to eat such as authentic Hawaiian food, healthy farm cafe, vegan, fresh poke, acai bowls, sushi and more. YUM!

Although we provide snacks, we don’t offer a full lunch. We have many recommendations of our favorite place to eat such as food trucks, garlic shrimp, Hawaiian food, Acai Bowls, burgers, and much more!

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance for a full refund.

My bridal party and I took a Full Adventure tour with Ryan and Caedon. We were a group of 10, so we were split between two minivans. We had such a blast! They took us to Spitting Cave where Ryan told us a crazy surfing story. We also got to go snorkeling, eat poke for lunch at Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden and swim next to a waterfall. We ended the tour, eating malasadas from Leonard’s Bakery. Ryan and Caedon did a great job showing us around. They took pix and videos of us at all the stops. We were referred by the Ritz Carlton Turtle Bay Resort and this experience was unforgettable. This tour company is able to tailor the experience to our specific interests which is very different than others. There were no limitations. Ryan took us on an awesome hike and afterwards took us to a hidden gem for some great snorkeling. What I appreciated the most was that this company is family owned whom are local natives. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible Day — Highlight of Our Oahu Trip! Our family of five (mom, dad, twin 23-year-old daughters, and 16-year-old son) spent the day on a private adventure tour with Caedon, and it ended up being one of the biggest highlights of our entire 7-day trip to the North Shore, Oahu! From the very beginning, Caedon was amazing. He called ahead of time to really get to know our family and tailor the day exactly to what we wanted, which made the experience feel so personal and special. The day was packed with adventure and absolutely unforgettable experiences. We explored Mermaid Cave 🧜‍♀️, snorkeled at Electric Beach where we saw tons of beautiful tropical fish, coral, and multiple sea turtles, and hiked to a hidden waterfall that honestly felt like stepping into another world. The brave ones in our group even did a 30-foot cliff jump! We also stopped for an incredible late lunch at local food trucks, which was such a fun and authentic touch. To top it all off, we went paddle boarding and kayaking down a gorgeous river surrounded by lush vegetation and more sea turtles everywhere we looked. What made this tour so special was how customized, adventurous, and seamless the entire day felt. Caedon was knowledgeable, fun, patient, and genuinely passionate about showing us the best parts of the island. We never felt rushed, and he made sure every member of our family had an amazing experience. We did a lot during our week in Hawaii, but this was the day we all kept talking about afterward. We had an amazing day on the south shore with Ryan!!! Our two teenage girls had a great time as we went hiking, snorkeling and jumping off cliffs into waterfalls. This was so much fun! Our guide Jeremy was amazing! He welcomed us with open arms and I felt like I was just hanging out with a long time friend. I highly recommend Mahina Adventures. My husband and son spend the entire day with Ryan. They went to great surfing spots, had a blast, and then went spearfishing. They caught some fish and a few octopus. Had the best time. Ryan also recommended some areas for us to hike later in the week. Very professional and a great personality. This is the best experience ever, my husband and I book a day package with Ryan , little did we know that it would be one of the best experience of our lives , the scenery , the hikes , the mountains , the water …. I mean it was breathtaking! Ryan was beyond kind , patient and easy going to hangout with ! he knew the areas and his schedule for us was on point !Our day included different kinds of hikes , forest hikes , mountain hikes , caves , snorkeling , and we ended the day beautifully with a lesson of surf, and guess what ?! My husband and I caught many waves Day 1 all thanks to Ryan’s help. Also the snorkeling site was gorgeous and only locals knew about it , so it wasn’t packed at all and we enjoyed our time. We loved it so much we booked the next day for a day at the beach for a surf lesson which turned out to be a great experience ! Here are so photos of our unforgettable trip. Our family of four had a fantastic time with Ryan. My goal and intent for the tour was to see other parts of O'ahu and he delivered! We went for beautiful hikes, jumped off cliffs (baby cliffs for the parents, big cliffs for the kids), saw amazing surfing on the North Shore, and kayaked up a river full of turtles (we lost count after 25!). We did the all day adventure with Ryan and it was the highlight of our honeymoon!! We had a truly ideal, full-day tour with Wyatt. We have a pre-teen and a teen, and Wyatt was very thoughtful and accommodating when designing our itinerary for the day. He offered many ideas and really had a knack for allowing the day to flow naturally and unhurried while also packing in about three days' worth of activities into one day. He took us to a great boogie-boarding spot and also a cliff-diving area (both uncrowded), and we felt very safe with him in the water. (He said he used to be a lifeguard.) Wyatt knows where the hidden gems are. He’s also a safe driver and very easy to spend the day with. Highly recommend Wyatt!

Wyatt gave us great tips to make it both fun and safe.Then we did a beautiful hike up to the Sunset Pillbox, where the views over the coastline were absolutely stunning. Wyatt paced it perfectly so we could enjoy the scenery without feeling rushed.We finished with snorkeling at Waimea Bay, where we swam alongside colorful fish in crystal-clear water. Wyatt provided gear and made sure we were comfortable and confident in the ocean.The entire day was well planned, and Wyatt’s local knowledge and easygoing personality made it extra special. We came away with beautiful photos, great memories, and a deeper appreciation for the North Shore. Highly recommend!

Wow is a great way to describe our two wonderful days with Vincent our guide. First day was all about going to places where I could get some great photos. We had lunch at a local place which was excellent. Afternoon was down to south end of the island for more photos. Vincent tailored the day just for us. He is very knowledgeable about about all the local history, landmarks, and best photo spots. The second day Vincent suggested we hit one his better snorkeling spots. We loved it. The three tables. Spent about 90 minutes in water. Lots of fish. Several large groups of reef fish were out for their morning breakfast. No turtle this day but great snorkeling. Next we had lunch at one of the food trucks. Great fish tacos. Not a fan of the cucumber lemonade! More photos spots and some shopping. One of the highlights was Vincent said he wanted to stop at a beach that we might see a turtle. Sure enough the was a big turtle up on the sand working on his/ her tan! Made my wife’s day! Stopped by the Dole plantation for some excellent pineapple soft serve. Can’t say how great Vincent was. Especially great was we got a tour that was adjusted to our wishes - exactly! We’ll be back next year for our 50th anniversary and will book with Mahina Hawai’i again.

Our family had such a great day with our guide, Caedon! We asked to pack the day with fun activities and he definitely delivered. We went hiking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and cliff jumping, in addition to stopping by local places for delicious coffee and food. Having Caedon allowed us to fully enjoy the day rather than worry about driving, parking and logistics. He took care of all of that (parking at these beaches is tough because the lots are small and fill up quickly), and knew exactly where to go so that we didn’t waste time. He also was able to share a lot of knowledge about Hawaii and the sights while we drove from place to place. He was so much fun with our kids, helping them with the cliff jumps and rope swings. In addition, he got some great videos and photos of us throughout the day, including under water shots which are so cool. We really felt like this was great value for the money. We could not have done all of these things on our own in one day. Highly recommend this experience!!

We had a fantastic day of adventure and exploration in hidden gems across ocean, rivers, waterfalls and visiting film locations for Jurassic Park and Lost. . Ryan was the best tour guide. We felt so comfortable and safe that all three of us ended up cliff jumping at multiple locations which we never thought we ever would have done! I appreciated that Ryan never rushed us or cut the day short. He participated alongside every adventure with us whether it was snorkeling in the water or jumping off the cliff filming us on his GoPro. Did a tour with them on our trip and it was absolutely amazing! Cliff jumping, hikes, snorkeling, waterfalls and so much more. But the best part is that our guide took us to places that not many people know about and we basically were alone in every place we went to! He even took pictures and videos on his go-pro and sent them to us on the ride home!Our tour guide was Ryan, the owner, and he customized our day to fit what we were looking for. Ryan went above and beyond to accommodate my husband and me as we chose a hike together on Oahu. He spoke with us several times during his vacation and then again when he returned to Oahu. The hike we chose, the Palehua Ridge Trail, required a permit which he acquired, research re: getting to the trailhead and directions while we were on the hike. Although my husband and I are both active 70-year-olds, there were definitely some challenging spots that Ryan deftly helped us navigate. My family and I spent the whole day with Ryan exploring all the well-known spots and some hidden gems around O'ahu. Our adventure was hands down the best part of our trip to O'ahu for Christmas and New Years. It didn't feel like your prototypical tour where a guide takes you to all the standard places. Ryan took his time to connect with us prior to our trip to get a good understanding of what type of adventure we were looking for. He delivered 110% on what we were envisioning! Ryan masterfully designed an itinerary to incorporate each of our family member's 'wishlists', including an exhilarating dive into a lagoon as well as a memorable snorkeling experience. Not only was Ryan knowledgable about the various sightseeing and adventure locations, he also shared a great deal of history with us throughout the car ride to each location. At the end of the day, our adventure felt more like hanging out with an old friend from school that now lives on the island and is taking you to all his favorite spots - both well-known and hidden. Many of the recommendations he provided we went back to again during the remainder of our trip. Overall, it was a very personable experience. Ryan took the time to really get to know us, understand what we were looking for, and delivered a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you can only do one thing in O'ahu, we cannot recommend more strongly to book with Ryan and Mahina Hawaii for a day of adventure.

My Wife and I did a whole day adventure with our guide Wyatt for our Honeymoon. We were able to do everything that we wanted that day, even tho Wyatt did warn us about some inclement weather that may not allow us to go snorkeling. Luckily the weather was perfect! So we were able to fit a waterfall hike with a cliff jump, snorkeling, and paddle boring all within the window of 10 AM to 5 PM. We also stopped by a killer taco truck for a lunch break. Snorkeling was an easily the one of the highlights of the trip, only second to our guide Wyatt. He is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and fun to go on these adventures with. If you’re planning on booking my advice is to trust your guide, pack well and go with the flow.

We had a fantastic tour with Wyatt. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Wyatt was a wonderful guide! He had a vast knowledge of the island and even made the drive between activity spots enjoyable as he pointed out other things to do, plant life, and historical areas of the island. His knowledge of the plant life and Hawaiian history was an added bonus that we didn't expect and greatly appreciated.We were able to do multiple things in one day that would have taken us multiple hours to find and plan. We never felt like we were in a tourist trap location thanks to Wyatt's knowledge of all the best spots.Wyatt immediately made my husband and I both feel comfortable and was incredibly friendly during the entire day. We recently did a full day tour with Wyatt and it was one of the best days we had during our vacation. We did some cliff jumping at a waterfall that we had all to ourselves. Then we went snorkeling and saw tons of wildlife. We had lunch at a delicious food truck on the North Shore. Lastly, we went to a secluded beach and saw turtles. God is Amazing!! Connor is an amazing and knowledgeable local guide and he has an easy going personality. He tailored the experience to our interests and ensured a personalized and engaging experience. He provided transportation, life jackets, kayaks, water, & snacks. He also provides other equipment, but we opted out of snorkeling because of the days choppy waters. Our first stop was a hidden gem of a waterfall. We had the waterfall and the swimming area below the fall all to ourselves. We then stopped at Pali Lookout. Next we kayaked around Mokoli’i’ Island. After that we ate lunch and had our pick of delicious smelling food trucks. After eating yummy plates from Kahuku Famous Shrimp, we kept driving towards the North Shore while making stops to see some beautiful spots. We made a stop at Waimea Bay where Connor took us to a cliff overlooking the crashing waves below. It was breathtaking to see the waves crash onto the rocks below us while feeling a spritz from splashing sea water. We had the cliff all to ourselves. Our last stop was Tantalus Lookout where we saw beautiful views while the sun was setting. Connor took pictures/video of us through the day and air dropped them at the end of the day. We highly recommend Mahina Adventures and Connor.

My grandson and I went on a half day adventure that was just the best! We kayaked, roped jumped from a tree into the river and finished it up by cliff jumping. I jumped once, my grandson didn’t want to stop. To finish the adventure perfectly Ryan forwarded the go pro videos to us for a remembrance. From the moment Christian picked my husband and I up from our hotel, I knew we were going to have a great day. He took us to many beautiful places across the island. We overlooked the beaches and cliffs, saw a blow hole and waterfalls. We visited a coffee farm and ate local food at Fresh Catch that was amazing!!! We kayaked a river and saw turtles swimming below us. For the final moment of our trip, we were taken to a beach to see sea turtles swimming around. As we started walking back to the car, a sea turtle came out of the water on to the beach!! It was an amazing moment and made the whole trip for me!!! Christian had so much knowledge about the culture and the island!! I learned so much that day!!! We have told countless people about this tour since we have been home. Ryan took my grandson and me on a spectacular half day adventure kyacking up a river, jumping into the river via a tree rope and cliff jumping. Ryan was very accommodating, professional and fun! What an amazing day!!!! We were able to customize our tour and our guide Christian brought it. From the Aloha Bowl flea market to, the Bishop Museum, local poke place, hidden beach to see turtles, waterfall with diving pool, breath taking views of the island and the pure knowledge of a local. Christian did amazing job showing us the island of Oahu. He started off showing us some secret waterfalls and cliff jumps that no one else knows about, then we went to paddle boarding and kayaking, and finally we ended up with an amazing experience of snorkeling where we saw a stingray, huge turtles, and amazing fish.He did an amazing job, entertaining our family With stories of Hawaii and its history. He was able to give us details on how to finish up our time on Oahu with restaurant recommendations, and places we need to go hiking and have other adventures.I would highly recommend the Service and especially Christian. We recently had the pleasure of taking a tour with Mahina Hawaii Adventure Tours while in O'ahu, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our guides, Wyatt and Ryan Hailstone (owner of the company) were exceptional in every way. The tour was packed with exciting activities. We went snorkeling at Shark's Cove, where we were thrilled to spot a rare Hawksbill turtle. The snorkeling in the tide pools was equally amazing, offering clear views of the vibrant marine life. We also hiked to a stunning waterfall and even had the chance to jump off cliffs, which was exhilarating. It was something that everyone, including 4 kids ages 6 -12, enjoyed. Ryan and Wyatt ensured everything ran smoothly, starting with a prompt pick-up from our hotel. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour even more enjoyable. Ryan's recommendation to try canoe surfing was a highlight of our trip—we did it the next day, and it was an unforgettable experience. A visit to a local restaurant allowed us to taste some delicious Hawaiian cuisine, adding a nice touch to the day. We also made a spontaneous stop to see a monk seal resting on a beach, which was a delightful surprise. Overall, our only regret is not booking more time with this fantastic group. We had the best time with Wyatt at Mahina Hawaii! He picked us up on time and took us around the island to partake in all the activities we asked for.
